Full Biography
Viviane de Queiroz Pereira, widely known by her stage name Pocah (and formerly as MC Pocahontas), is a prominent Brazilian singer and songwriter born on October 17, 1994, in Queimados, Rio de Janeiro. Although born in Queimados, she spent her formative years in Duque de Caxias, where she was immersed in the vibrant culture of suburban Rio. Her stage name originated in her childhood when her brother noted her striking resemblance to the Disney character Pocahontas—a moniker she embraced throughout the early stages of her career before shortening it to Pocah for professional and trademark reasons.
She rose to fame as a leading figure in the Funk Carioca scene, gaining massive popularity with hits like "Mulher do Poder" in 2012. Over the years, she transitioned into a more versatile pop-funk style, collaborating with major Brazilian artists and signing with Warner Music Brazil. Her public profile reached new heights in 2021 when she participated in the 21st season of the reality show Big Brother Brasil, finishing as a finalist in 5th place. Today, she is celebrated not only for her music but also as a powerful voice for women's empowerment and LGBTQ+ rights within the Brazilian entertainment industry.
