Story
Eye of the Beholder follows Stephen Wilson, a.k.a. 'the Eye', a British Consulate investigator who crosses paths with a mysterious woman serial killer while on assignment in New York City. The woman, later identified as 'The Black Widow,' murders her lovers after they've fulfilled her sexual fantasies. When Wilson witnesses one of these killings, he becomes obsessed with the enigmatic beauty, whom he believes is calling out for help despite her violent actions. Haunted by his own past—his wife and daughter left him abruptly—Wilson sees in The Black Widow a kindred spirit, and he begins to follow her across the U.S., abandoning his job to pursue this dangerous obsession. Over the course of ten years, Wilson shadows The Black Widow without her knowledge, protecting her from capture while she continues her deadly pursuits under various aliases. Their strange dance of cat and mouse reaches a climax when Wilson is forced to confront his own motivations and decide whether to save the woman he loves or stop the killer he's been tracking.
